Located 472 kilometres north-west of Adelaide, South Australia, Carrapateena is part of our Minerals Australia operations, within the Copper South Australia province. The mine is located on the traditional land of the Kokatha people. Carrapateena produces copper concentrate and is one of the largest mining projects in South Australia in the last decade.
Please note this position is based at Carrapateena, offered on a FIFO (from Adelaide) basis and operating on an 8/6/8/6/8/6/7/7 roster pattern arrangement.
About the role
We have existing vacancies for qualified Mechanical Fitters to work at our Carrapateena operations performing planned, unplanned and or breakdown maintenance activities within our highly skilled underground maintenance team.
In this role you will:
- Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
- Provide technical expertise within the team to facilitate planned, unplanned and or breakdown maintenance and preventative shut down maintenance
- Develop close working relationships with operations personnel to ensure that all plant downtime issues are escalated correctly and remedied promptly
- Provide continual feedback to the maintenance supervisor on job/task progress
About you
- Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm's way
- Australian recognised Mechanical Trade qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels and functions
- Previous experience working within an operational maintenance environment
- Comfortable working in an operational underground mining environment
- Ability to operate across multiple work-fronts ensuring you maintain and clean and tidy workplace
- Understanding of Quality Assurance principles and associated systems and practices
